The information in this photo might sound random and out of the blue but I think it’s important to share:
My dad has an allotment and I remember helping him to pick up potatoes at the beginning of every summer. I also remember he pretty much made me throw away the potatoes that had a green coloured skin. He said: “Potatoes grow under the soil to protect themselves from the sun, when a potato sees the sunlight they go green. It’s like when you go to the beach without sun cream and you go red, and it’s painful. Now we don’t want that, do we?” Wise works daddy…
A quick trick to make the most of your Bisto gravy:
Just add 1 or 2 teaspoons of dried rosemary to the mix, it will give your gravy a really nice fragrance and home-made-like flavour. Easy peasy!
I’m sure there are many proper recipes of Rosemary gravy out there but unfortunately I really have no time to make nice home-made gravy…
Are you like me and have a different scarf for each day of the year? If so I’m happy to share this trick with you. I’ve been using this for years and it’s a great way to keep your scarves tidy, organised and free of creases without taking up much space in your wardrobe. Let’s start!
You will need
A coat hanger (make sure it’s resistant, I’m using a wooden one)
Let’s put it together
It’s as easy as putting each hook around the bar of the hanger. Use as many hooks as scarves you want to hang.
Then you just need to put the scarves through each hook, you can tie a loose knot to ensure they won’t slip (I do that with silk scarves) or just let them hang.
And voilà! Here you have all your scarves perfectly organised! I have at least 3 of these scarf hangers in my wardrobe and they are so easy to keep tidy. Hope this helps!
I saw this idea somewhere and thought it could be worth sharing.
Use wire to hold the rolls of wrapping paper on the ceiling of the closet, instead of taking up floor space. You just need to drill four holes on the top walls of our closet to hold the rolls against the ceiling. You can also use strong fishing wire and pins if you don’t want to drill on the walls or your closet is made out of wood.
Another trick to keep them tidy is to use old toilet paper rolls to keep them from unravelling. Just cut empty toilet rolls lengthwise up the middle and wrap them around the wrapping paper roll. You’ll instantly have a simple, low-cost clasp to keep the rolls from unravelling.
Spring is coming and the weather is asking for lighter desserts and treats like juicy fruit. I love strawberries but they’re a real pain to clean and sometimes when I can’t be bothered I end up wasting half of the fruit while cutting off their stem. Well those days are over, I found this trick to have them ready easily and with minimal waste.
After thoroughly rinsing your strawberries under cool water insert a plastic straw from the bottom of the fruit to the top making sure you go through the centre of the strawberry, push the straw up until it comes out from the top neatly removing its stem and leaves.
Tired to find your beautiful Christmas baubles and decorations smashed into pieces no matter how much bubble wrap you protect them with when storing them? Try keeping them in egg cartons (the plastic ones don’t work so well), no more Christmas drama this year!
Hi there! Are you, like me to do your best trying to fold those damn annoying fitted sheets and losing the battle every time? Well that war is over, try this system to fold them quickly and neatly. I’ve been using it for quite a while now and it has saved me a lot of time and despair. Follow the steps on the image below and get ready to scream “Oh yes!”
Organize your closet shelves.
Keep your bedding sets in one of the pillow cases, this way you won’t have to spend precious time looking in a messy pile of sheets to complete the set any more! You’re welcome.
Rubbing a walnut over the scratches and bumps on your wooden furniture will cover them!
You can bake your favourite cookie or biscuit recipe on a cupcake/muffin oven tray turned over to create tasty bowls. You can use them to serve individual portions of fruit or ice-cream. Yummy!
